Third man arrested over death threat to Oldham manager Darren Kelly

A third man is arrested by police in connection with a death-threat letter allegedly sent to new Oldham Athletic manager Darren Kelly.

A third man has been arrested by police after new Oldham Athletic manager Darren Kelly received a death threat.

The authorities were called to the League One club on Monday in relation to a threatening letter.

Kelly, who was appointed manager at the start of the month, has refuted claims that he supports the IRA.

Accusations were made when Irish-born Kelly reportedly called Northern Ireland deputy first minister Martin McGuinness, who is a former IRA commender, a "legend" on Twitter.

According to PA, a 31-year-old man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of making threats to kill, which follows the detainments of a 27-year-old man and a 42-year-old man, both of whom have been released on bail until June 15.

The man arrested on Thursday handed himself into the police station.
