The fiancee of Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton has claimed that the retired cyclist is not an emotional person.
The 32-year-old broke down in tears following her first performance with partner Brendan Cole in the first live show of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.
"It's frustrating because people only see the snapshots and think she is emotional," Pendleton's fiancee Scott Gardner told The Mirror.
"But they'll soon see the real Vicky and how light-hearted she is. When it comes to putting in a performance, she is exceptionally hard on herself."
Gardner is due to wed the gold medallist next August.
