Jeff Stelling, Rachel Riley to host Friday Night Football

Jeff Stelling and Rachel Riley are reportedly in line to be named hosts of Sky Sports's new Friday night Premier League coverage.

Jeff Stelling and Rachel Riley are reportedly in line to be named as hosts of Sky Sports's new Friday night football coverage.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the Soccer Saturday presenter will be reunited with his former Countdown partner for coverage of Friday night games from the Premier League, which are being introduced for the first time this season.

Sky has the rights to show 10 games in a Friday 8pm slot across the season, beginning with Southampton's trip to Old Trafford to face Jose Mourinho's Manchester United on August 19.

Stelling previously hosted Sky's Monday Night Football from 2005 to 2007 and was also the main host of Sky's Champions League coverage until BT Sport took over the rights last season.

Riley, Countdown's "numbers girl", worked with Stelling for two-and-a-half years when he was in the hosting hotseat of the Channel 4 mainstay.
