Louis Smith says that he aims to focus on doing charity work, despite rising to fame by winning Strictly Come Dancing.

Olympic gymnast Louis Smith has revealed that he will step down from his entertainment career and focus on doing charity work.

The 23-year-old, who won a silver and bronze medal at London 2012, was awarded with an MBE by the Queen at Buckingham Palace yesterday.

"I'm starting to take a step back from the entertainment side and move into charity and school work," the Daily Mail quotes Smith as saying.

"People might misconstrue that because we are doing a bit of entertainment that we're losing our way, but it's about boosting knowledge and so that we can promote other things that we're doing."

Smith was crowned the winner of BBC reality show Strictly Come Dancing last year.
