Football referee Dean Mohareb is arrested on allegations of hacking into a colleague's email account.

Football referee Dean Mohareb has been arrested on allegations of hacking into a colleague's email account.

The 29-year-old, of Stockport, Cheshire, was withdrawn from officiating yesterday's Championship clash between Barnsley and Peterborough United, which ended 2-0 to the Posh, after the accusation came to light.

It is understood that items were taken from Mohareb's, who is alleged to be involved in the "hacking and the dissemination of private information".

Mohareb is a national referee development manager within the Football Association's Referees Department.
