Police investigate Roy Keane 'road rage incident with taxi driver'

Police are investigating an incident involving Roy Keane, who reportedly had a verbal dispute with a taxi driver in Altrincham.

Police have launched an investigation into an alleged roadside argument between former Manchester United captain Roy Keane and a taxi driver in Altrincham.

The 43-year-old, who works as Martin O'Neill's assistant boss with the Republic of Ireland, is believed to have climbed out of his black Range Rover to launch a foul-mouthed tirade at the taxi driver.

According to The Mirror, Keane was heard swearing and seen making gestures towards the driver at his window before returning to his car and driving away.

Keane, who left his role as Aston Villa assistant boss earlier this season, is alleged to been involved in this incident at a set of traffic lights on the junction of Lloyd Street and Railway Street in Altrincham town centre at around 11.30am today.

A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said: "An investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident."

Keane lives around one mile away in Hale.
