The lawyer of Death Row Records co-creator Suge Knight has revealed that he expects boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr to pay his client's $10m (£6.5m) bail.
The rap mogul is awaiting trial for murder and attempted murder in Los Angeles, and discovered on Thursday that his attempt to halve his bail fee was rejected.
Despite the ruling, Knight's camp are confident that Mayweather, who is one of the richest sportsmen in the world, will stump up the cash if he beats Manny Pacquiao in Saturday's Las Vegas showdown.
Outside the court, Knight's attorney Matthew Fletcher told the New York Daily News: "My understanding is that Suge is going to be bailed out this coming week.
"We think Mr Mayweather is going to win the championship and then come champion the day again. They're good friends, and there's no reason he shouldn't. And we believe that will happen."
Knight's trial is planned for July 7.
