Jake Humphrey extends BT Sport contract

Presenter Jake Humphrey signs a new four-year contract with BT Sport, who will be showing live Champions League matches from the start of next season.

BT Sport has confirmed that football anchor Jake Humphrey has signed a new four-year deal with the broadcaster.

The 36-year-old has spent the previous two years presenting the channel's coverage of the Premier League and FA Cup.

Under the terms of the new contract, Humphrey's role will be extended to presenting live Champions League and Europa League matches, starting from next season.

"I have loved being involved at BT Sport from the very beginning. The last two years have been some of the most enjoyable of my career and on the way we've had some cracking games, part of the reason we've taken the channels from zero to over five million subscribers in the process," he said.

"The next stage is even more exciting as we become the only place to watch live UEFA Champions League. Fulfilling a childhood dream to present the Barclays Premier League has been an incredible adventure, and to be able to present big European matches from the world's most iconic stadiums will be another challenge I can't wait to take on."

Humphrey, who supports Norwich City, has previously worked for the BBC.
