Goal-line technology to be used in Bundesliga from next season

A vote between 18 members of Germany's top flight decide in favour of introducing goal-line technology in the Bundesliga from the start of next season.

The German Bundesliga will use goal-line technology from next season following a vote amongst the league's 18 clubs.

Fifteen top-flight sides voted in favour of the technology being introduced following a proposal made by Bayern Munich, just 12 months after initially being rejected.

The Hawk-Eye system which has been used in the Premier League since the start of the last campaign will be adopted, notifying referees whenever the ball crosses the goal line.

President of the German Football League, Reinhard Rauball, said: "I believe that this is a step forward for German football."

Goal-line technology was also used in this summer's World Cup finals.
