ESPN cancel Will Ferrell's SportsCenter appearance as Ron Burgundy

ESPN cancel actor Will Ferrell's appearance as Ron Burgundy on SportsCenter due to a press conference regarding sexual assault allegations against quarterback Jameis Winston.

ESPN have confirmed that American actor Will Ferrell will not be appearing on the SportsCenter show this Thursday as Anchorman character Ron Burgundy.

The decision has been made due to the press conference being held at the Florida State Attorney's office regarding sexual assault allegations involving college quarterback Jameis Winston.

ESPN's director of communications David Scott wrote on Twitter: "Ron Burgundy's scheduled Thurs. appearance on @SportsCenter has been cancelled in light of the potential implications of any news from the State Attorney's press conference in Fla. As of this time, there is no reschedule date for Ron Burgundy."

Ferrell was expected to appear on the show with David Koechner as Champ Kind from Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
