David Beckham denies reports he is considering playing James Bond

Retired footballer David Beckham denies rumours that he is considering taking on the role of James Bond in the future.

Former England football captain David Beckham has denied reports that he is considering playing the role of James Bond in the next spy film.

The 40-year-old, who retired from football in 2013, recently revealed that he wants to embark on an acting career.

Following his claims, there were rumours that the ex-Manchester United star could replace Daniel Craig to become the iconic character.

However, a representative for Beckham has told the Daily Mail that the retired footballer has no plans to take on the role of '007'.

Beckham has been handed a small part in Guy Ritchie's upcoming film Knights Of The Roundtable: King Arthur.
