Papiss Cisse has offered to wear a charity's logo on his Newcastle United shirt after objecting to the team's new kit sponsor.

The striker, who is Muslim, has religious objections to wearing a shirt sponsored by short-term loan company Wonga.

The Mirror reports that the Senegalese forward is exploring the possibility of replacing the firm's logo with the name of a charity.

The newspaper goes on to claim that the Magpies have sought clarity from employment law experts over the situation.

Cisse is due to begin pre-season training with the team today.
