Jose Mourinho pulls out of Soccer Aid charity game at Old Trafford

Jose Mourinho withdraws from the Soccer Aid charity football match at Old Trafford on Sunday as he begins his new job as Manchester United manager.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has pulled out of Sunday's Soccer Aid charity game at Old Trafford.

The 53-year-old had been due to take charge of an England side for the annual meeting against a Rest of the World XI.

Mourinho, who previously managed Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Porto, is thought to have told organisers that he had other commitments he wanted to focus on.

Man Utd are understood not to have placed any pressure on Mourinho to withdraw from the match, which is played biennially in aid of the children's charity UNICEF.

Sunday's game would have been the Portuguese boss's first appearance at United's stadium since officially becoming the club's manager last week.
