Manchester United stars head out for dinner during Champions League absence

Wayne Rooney and his Manchester United teammates head out for a team bonding dinner while their rivals compete in the Champions League.

Manchester United's players decided to do some team bonding while their rivals competed in the Champions League last night.

The Red Devils failed to earn a place in the elite competition this season after falling from champions to seventh during the 2013-14 Premier League campaign.

While Liverpool and Arsenal were in action last night, Wayne Rooney and the rest of his teammates headed to restaurant and bar Neighbourhood in Manchester.

Rooney, who was joined by his wife Coleen, was photographed chatting to Robin van Persie and new boy Daley Blind, while Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria were also spotted with the team.

Despite having no Champions League football this year, the United team seemed in good spirits as goalkeeper David de Gea posted an image on Twitter of the group on their night out.
