Manchester United extend partnership with social gaming company Gloops

Manchester United extend their partnership with Japanese gaming company Gloops for a further year.

Manchester United have announced that Japanese social gaming partner Gloops have extended their association with the Premier League club.

The company, which teamed up with United over a year ago, created the 'European Club Team Soccer Best Eleven Plus' game, which allows users to take on the role of manager.

The game, which involves users assembling the best team in order to win the league, has had 1.4 million downloads.

Managing director Richard Arnold said: "We are delighted that gloops have decided to extend their relationship with us for another year, and demonstrates that having a partnership with Manchester United yields impressive returns.

"Gloops have produced an extremely popular product, with almost half of our four million followers in Japan downloading its Manchester United branded game, which is impressive given the short period in which it has been available.

"They are at the forefront of the development of social gaming in Japan and we believe they can continue to help the club deepen our engagement with our fans there."

The Japanese company was founded nine years ago.
