Rio Ferdinand will play alongside John Terry and Ashley Cole in a Great Britain and Ireland team captained by David Beckham for a charity match at Old Trafford next month.
The former Manchester United defender will take part in the November 14 game, which is in aid of UNICEF.
Ferdinand has had a strained relationship with his ex-England teammates after Terry was banned for racially abusing his brother Anton in 2011.
Cole testified on Terry's behalf in a trial relating to the same incident, and the Chelsea captain was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.
The British team will be managed by ex-United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, while Carlo Ancelotti will take charge of a Rest of the World squad.
