Manchester United's David de Gea 'furious to miss hospital visit'

A report claims that an angry David de Gea was forced to miss Manchester United's visit to a children's hospital because he was required to undergo random drug testing.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was reportedly left furious by the fact that he was not able to attend the club's annual Christmas visit to a local hospital.

A number of players, including De Gea's fellow Spaniards Juan Mata and Ander Herrera, arrived at Manchester Royal Children's Hospital earlier today to spend time with some of the young patients.

However, De Gea was instead forced to remain at the club's Carrington training base to undergo a series of random drugs tests, according to the Daily Mail.

The report adds that the 25-year-old was given no prior notice that he would be required for the examinations, which angered him further.

De Gea was close to leaving the Red Devils for Real Madrid during the summer, but the move fell through and he has since signed a new contract at Old Trafford.
