Manchester City post record revenues of more than £470m

Manchester City reveal their financial figures for the year ending June 30, 2017, showing revenues of £473.4m and a profit of £1.08m.

Premier League leaders Manchester City have announced record revenues of £473.4m for the year ending June 30, 2017.

The Citizens made a profit of £1.08m over the 13-month period, coinciding with Pep Guardiola's first season at the club, and boast a 21% turnover rise - their ninth consecutive year-on-year improvement.

Despite their failure to add any trophies to the cabinet in 2016-17, City's financial figures remain impressive as they have also now posted a profit three years running.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has hailed the latest figures and underlined the club's commitment to sustainability.

"This report is about making sure our fans and our partners can see the true detailed status of every aspect of the club," he said. "What hopefully comes across is that the football organisation and off-field business have the right symmetry and balance to allow us to continue to further strengthen and grow."

Guardiola's men have an eight-point lead over their rivals at the top of the Premier League after winning 10 and drawing one of their first 11 games.
