A group of six Irish cyclists reportedly had their belongings and bikes stolen outside Anfield after arriving in Liverpool to raise money for the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.

The team touched down on Merseyside to take part in Monday's 96km charity ride to mark the 25th anniversary of the disaster, which resulted in the death of 96 Liverpool supporters.

According to the Daily Mail, after the cyclists took a tour around Anfield, they returned to their van to discover that their bikes, clothing, and equipment worth around £30,000, as well as passports, had been stolen.

The riders, who are members of charity Cycle 4 Sick Children, were forced to fly home yesterday after their cash was taken.
