Jamie Carragher's 'two bars in Liverpool go bust'

Jamie Carragher's two bars in Liverpool's city centre reportedly go bust after racking up debts of more than £1m.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has reportedly had two of his bars in the Merseyside city centre go bust.

The 35-year-old, who retired from the game at the end of last season, fronted The Stanley Street restaurant and cocktail bar in Thomas Steers Way in Liverpool One.

However, it has emerged that the Cafe Sports England business was sinking in debts of more than £1m, causing the company to go into voluntary liquidation on October 17, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The majority of the debts are said to have been owed to the Flanagan Group, who are the parent company of City Life Projects, who teamed up with Carragher to launch the bars.
