Report: Arsenal eye January move for Daniel Agger

Arsenal and Barcelona are both reportedly interested in signing Daniel Agger from Liverpool in January.

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Daniel Agger's situation at Liverpool after he admitted that he could leave the club in January, according to reports.

The centre-back is growing frustrated at his lack of game time at Anfield, despite being one of the Reds' star men, and concedes that he may be forced to head for the exit door if his situation doesn't improve.

The Dane started the first three Premier League games of the season, but Brendan Rodgers has since opted to field Kolo Toure, Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho in a back-three formation.

The Gunners, who have often been forced to wield Bacary Sagna out of position as a centre-back in the absence of Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen, are said to be monitoring Agger's status with Liverpool, according to The Telegraph.

Barcelona, who had a £14.6m bid rejected for the 28-year-old in August, supposedly also remain interested in acquiring the services of Agger.
