Merseyside Police have confirmed that they are "investigating a serious assault" which occurred before Liverpool's Champions League clash with Roma on Tuesday night.
A Liverpool supporter was reportedly stabbed ahead of kickoff on Merseyside after a number of Roma fans approached the Albert pub near Anfield's Kop Stand.
Merseyside Police have now released a tweet asking for anyone with information to come forward.
We are investigating a serious assault of a man outside the Albert pub on Walton Breck Rd at about 7.35pm. Officers are appealing to anyone with information, or mobile phone footage to contact our social media desk via twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC
