Leyton Orient players, coaching staff 'ordered to spend week in hotel'

Leyton Orient's players and manager Ian Hendon are reportedly ordered to stay at a hotel for a week following last weekend's loss to Hartlepool.

Leyton Orient owner Francesco Becchetti has reportedly ordered the players and coaching staff to spend a week in a hotel after suffering defeat to Hartlepool last weekend.

The League Two outfit recorded a second successive loss when they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at Victoria Park.

After the game, Becchetti ordered manager Ian Hendon, assistant Andy Hessenthaler, four other members of staff and the 18 players to stay at the Marriott Hotel in Waltham Abbey until at least Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.

"I wouldn't want to be the one paying the bill," Hendon told the newspaper. "The owner has had different sporting ventures over the years and he said sometimes it's good to get together and spend time together. It helps team bonding. When the owner suggested it I thought why not try something different."

It is believed that the players are allowed to visit family in their spare time, but must return to the hotel for meals and to sleep.
