Leicester City defender Danny Simpson is facing a possible spell in prison, after being found guilty of assaulting the mother of his child in a drunken row.
The 28-year-old attacked ex-girlfriend Stephanie Ward, Manchester Magistrates Court heard, just hours after playing for the Foxes in a Premier League game.
Simpson, who has previously spent seven years at Manchester United, denied one charge of assault by beating, but he was found guilty earlier today and was told by a magistrate that he could spend time behind bars.
The incident took place on December 29 last year.
