Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani signs Myanmar football TV rights deal

Eleven Sports, the sports media company owned by Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani, signs a nine-year global rights deal with the Myanmar National League.

The sports media company owned by Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has signed a nine-year global rights deal with the Myanmar National League.

The deal comes six weeks after the club's controversial post-season tour of the South-East Asian nation, which was heavily criticised due to political tensions and violence in the country.

Eleven Sports has launched a new sports service, My Sports, which will stream each of the league's 132 matches per season, beginning in 2019.

"Myanmar is our fourth new market this year and our eleventh in total, which is completely in line with our huge global ambitions," Eleven Sports managing director Danny Menken said in a statement.

"With My Sports we have created a new brand, not available in any other market, designed to satisfy the needs of the sports fans of Myanmar.

"Our long-term partnership with the Myanmar National League will ensure that we help the country develop its football infrastructure over a sustained period, providing local fans with more opportunities to watch and participate in their favourite sport.

"As always, our proposition will be enriched with many more local and international premium sports rights which will be announced in the coming weeks and months."

Leeds have recently appointed Marcelo Bielsa as their new head coach.
