Former Liverpool star Steven Gerrard gets his hands on an Oscar in LA

Steven Gerrard gets his hands on an Oscar just three days after moving to Los Angeles ahead of his LA Galaxy debut on July 11.

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard got his hands on a prestigious Oscar just three days after moving to Los Angeles, California.

The 35-year-old midfielder and his wife Alex have been settling into life in the City of Angels after arriving in the United States at the weekend.

Gerrard will be unveiled by new club Los Angeles Galaxy at half time of Saturday's MLS clash against Toronto, but beforehand, the former England skipper managed to get a close look at an Oscar, which is much-coveted by Hollywood's elite.

Alongside an Instagram snap of Gerrard posing with the award, the footballer wrote: "Day 3 in LA and I get a OSCAR in my hands thanks to the late Mr Lew Wasserman . Respect."

Gerrard also made time to meet up with teammate Robbie Keane at Il Pastaio restaurant in Beverly Hills.
