Everton forward Wayne Rooney has reportedly started his community service at a garden centre for adults with learning difficulties.

Last month, Rooney was charged with drink-driving after being stopped by police at over three times the legal limit, and the 31-year-old was subsequently charged by Cheshire Police.

As well as being handed a two-year ban from driving, Rooney must work 100 hours of unpaid community service, which according to The Mirror has already begun.

Rooney - who is said to have already completed two days' work - is claimed to be working at the same garden centre as former Manchester United teammate Carlos Tevez, who received a driving ban in 2013.

The former England captain has been required to complete maintenance work, which has allegedly included plant potting and maintenance, during a daily six-hour stay at the North-West location.

Rooney has scored three goals in 13 appearances for Everton since his return to Goodison Park in the summer.
