Everton's Steven Naismith helps feed the homeless in Glasgow

Everton striker Steven Naismith helps to feed the homeless in Glasgow by sponsoring the Loaves and Fishes charity.

Everton striker Steven Naismith has shown his generous side by helping to feed the homeless in Glasgow as part of the Loaves and Fishes charity.

The 29-year-old, who has been struggling for first-team action at Goodison Park, was at Renfield St Stephen's Church in the Scottish city to serve homeless people Christmas dinner for a fifth year in a row.

"I think I'm in touch with real life, if you want to call it that," the Daily Mail quotes Naismith as saying. "I know how hard it can be for people but things like this Christmas lunch puts everything in perspective.

"I very rarely talk about football being stressful because not many people would understand. We've got a fantastic career and a great life on the back of it."

Naismith does plenty of charity work as he also helps the homeless at the Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool, as well as being part of an initiative that helps injured former servicemen back to work.
