FIFA have confirmed that a man has died after falling nearly 35 metres at the stadium where England are due to play Italy at next year's World Cup.
Construction worker Marleudo de Melo Ferreira passed away in hospital after falling off the roof of the Arena Amazonia in Manaus.
"Fifa and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) learnt of the death of the worker on Saturday at the Arena Amazonia site with great sadness," read a FIFA statement.
"We would like to send our most sincere condolences to his family, relatives, colleagues and friends."
The fatal incident occurred when a cable broke.
