A man has been injured after a piece of iron fell on his head while he was working at a World Cup stadium in Brazil, according to a report.

A man has reportedly been injured after a piece of iron fell on his head while he was unloading a crane at a World Cup stadium in Brazil.

According to Globo Esporte, construction worker Antonio Jose Pita Martins is in a critical condition in hospital following the incident at the Arena Amazonia in Manaus, where England are due to play Italy at this summer's tournament.

There have been no further updates given as to the condition of the 55-year-old.

In December, worker Marleudo de Melo Ferreira passed away in hospital after falling from the roof of the same venue.
