Double Commonwealth Games medallist Tom Daley has revealed that he wants to take up a course in "Spanish, sociology, politics, or something like that" to occupy his spare time.
The 20-year-old diver said tonight after retaining his Commonwealth 10m platform gold that he needs something new to do when he isn't training or competing.
Daley has had starring roles over the last year on Splash and Tom Daley Goes Global, but is certain that his non-diving activities do not damage his ability in the pool.
"For me it's just about making sure I stay focused on my diving," he told reporters tonight at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh. "Diving is my number one priority. I used to do school full time and nobody used to worry about me going to school full-time saying that it was a distraction and I shouldn't be doing it.
"Because I've not got any school any more and I haven't got any TV shows that I'm doing, I'm actually going to start possibly a course in Spanish, sociology, politics, or something like that just to keep my mind away from it.
"If your mind is constantly on diving, it will melt, and it's always good to have a distraction from it."
Gold tonight was Daley's second medal of Glasgow 2014 after he clinched silver in the 10m synchro with James Denny on Friday.
