Prime Minister David Cameron has insisted that Manu Tuilagi has no need to apologise for playing a prank on him during the British and Irish Lions' visit to Downing Street.
The team were invited to the function by Cameron following their series win over Australia during the summer, but Tuilagi took the focus when he made a 'bunny ears' gesture behind the politician while a photo was being taken.
The Leicester Tigers player was ordered to send a letter to Cameron apologising, but the Prime Minister told Tuilagi on Twitter: "It was great to welcome you and the team to No 10. No need to apologise - I know it was just a bit of fun."
Tuilagi also apologised on the social networking website after the incident.
