Besiktas stadium hit by explosion
At least 20 people are thought to be injured after an explosion near Besiktas's Vodafone Arena in Istanbul.

At least 20 people are thought to have been injured after an explosion outside Besiktas's Vodafone Arena in Istanbul.

Early reports suggest that the explosion was caused by a car bomb that targeted a police riot van shortly after the end of a football match.

A number of officers are thought to be amongst those injured by the blast, which came after Besiktas beat Bursaspor 2-1 to move joint top of the Super Lig table.

Ambulances and fire engines were rushed to the scene, while TV footage showed a fire burning outside the stadium.

A second explosion was also reported near a shopping centre in Taksim Square, with police and ambulance services also sent to that location.
