Romelu Lukaku unveils reasons behind not signing a boot deal

Romelu Lukaku reveals the reason he did not sign a boot deal last season, having most recently played in Puma boots in Belgium's friendlies ahead of the World Cup.

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku has spoken out on the reason behind his decision to not sign a boot deal last season.

The Manchester United forward previously had a deal with Nike to wear their footwear, however Lukaku has recently been spotted in adidas and Puma boots as well.

While the 25-year-old did not confirm whether he would sign a deal ahead of next season, Lukaku insisted that it was not a significant part of his game.

"It's the player who makes the boots, not the other way around," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

Lukaku will face England, Panama and Tunisia in Group G of the World Cup with Belgium later this month.
