Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has hinted that a statue of Lionel Messi could be built at their proposed new stadium.
The Spanish champions are in the process of developing plans for a new stadium and Rosell has revealed that there could be a long-term place for Argentine Messi.
"I like the idea of a statue. We hadn't considered it, but we will look into it," he told reporters at a press conference.
Messi, who became the club's leading scorer in March 2012, has netted 331 times for Barcelona since making the step into the first team in 2004.
The 26-year-old has also won six league titles and three Champions Leagues during his first-team career at Barca.
