Baltimore Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro has been arrested and charged with being drunk in public and destruction of property.

Taliaferro was picked up by police in the early hours of Saturday morning before being charged with smashing the window of a taxi.

The rookie, who was chosen by the Ravens in the fourth round of this year's NFL Draft, is understood to have admitted to breaking the window by accident and paid to replace it.

"We're aware of the situation and have discussed with Lorenzo. He will have his due process and the opportunity to talk about what happened," read a statement from the Ravens.

Taliaferro becomes the fourth Raven to be arrested this year after Ray Rice, Deonte Thompson and Jah Reid.
