Tom Daley, Arsenal up for British LGBT awards

Great Britain diver Tom Daley and Premier League side Arsenal are shortlisted for gongs at the British LGBT Awards.

Great Britain diver Tom Daley and Premier League side Arsenal have been shortlisted for gongs at the British LGBT Awards.

Daley, who won a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics, is up for the Sports Personality of the Year award alongside fellow Olympian Nicola Adams, and also the Global Gay Icon.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been nominated in the Brand of the Year category for their participation in the Rainbow Laces campaign against homophobia in football.

Other sports stars who could win prizes at the April 24 bash include Robbie Rogers, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Steven Davies and Arsenal Ladies' Casey Stoney.
