Marc Marquez ready to tackle Silverstone in British MotoGP

Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez insists that he is ready to tackle Silverstone this weekend, despite it not being his "favourite" track.

Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez has admitted that Silverstone is not his "favourite" track, but is ready for battle in this weekend's British GP.

The Spaniard is unlikely to retain his crown this season as he is currently third in the standings, 52 points behind joint leaders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.

"Silverstone isn't one of my favourite tracks but I enjoy going there as you can feel the excitement and the history that surrounds the circuit and the area as a whole," motogp.com quotes Marquez as saying.

"I've been on the podium there the past three years including a win last year, so let's hope the weather is good to us and we can fight for a similar result this year."

A fortnight after Silverstone, the riders will travel to San Marino.
