IndyCar drivers hold a meeting with the sport's officials regarding new safety regulations following the death of Dan Wheldon.

More than a dozen IndyCar drivers have met with series officials to discuss the introduction of new safety measures to the sport.

The talks, thought to have lasted three hours, come in the wake of Dan Wheldon's death at the Las Vegas Indy 300 last weekend.

A memorial service was held yesterday for the 33-year-old British driver, who was tragically killed in a collision involving 15 cars.

The Motorsport world was further clouded yesterday by the death of 24-year-old Moto GP rider Marco Simoncelli, who crashed during Sunday's race in Malaysia.
