Team Brabham aiming for Formula 1 comeback

Former driver David Brabham reveals that he hopes to see the Brabham name return to Formula 1 in the future.

Team Brabham will return to motorsport in 2015 as it competes in the World Endurance Championship.

The team hasn't been seen in Formula 1 since 1992, but David Brabham, who competed in 30 races between 1990 and 1994, has signalled his intent on earning a return to the top of the sport by leading "Project Brabham" next year.

Brabham is hoping that allowing fans to buy a stake in the team will give them the opportunity to progress past their participation in the competition that will begin next spring.

The 49-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I have dreamt of seeing the Brabham team back on the track, winning at the highest level.

"Who knows where that could lead? Back to Formula 1, I hope."

Brabham, which was founded by Sir Jack Brabham in 1962, won four Formula 1 World Championships between 1966 and 1983.
