Natalie Melmore "gutted" with lawn bowls silver medal

England's Natalie Melmore admits that she is "gutted" to have missed out on a gold medal in the women's pairs lawn bowls at the Commonwealth Games.

Natalie Melmore has declared that England's women's pairs team will bounce back from disappointment to win gold at the Commonwealth Games in four years' time.

Melmore and teammate Jamie-Lea Winch were edged out by the finest of margins against South Africa earlier today, settling for a silver medal in the lawn bowls event.

"Right now I'm not proud, I'm really gutted," Melmore told BBC Sport after the match at Kelvingrove. "Obviously it's disappointing. We missed it by the smallest of margins.

"Sometimes somebody is not rooting for us up there. We are just going to come back for more next time."

Northern Ireland beat Jersey to win bronze.
