Euan Burton has reveled in the "special moment" of coming out of retirement to win gold for Scotland in his Commonwealth Games judo event.
The Scot's flag bearer returned to the sport in order to compete at the Games following a disappointing second-round exit in the London Olympics two years ago.
It proved to be a wise decision as the 35-year-old beat Pakistan's Shah Hussain Shah in the final of the -100kg category to claim gold, and redemption, on Saturday.
"London 2012 was massively disappointing for me and I wasn't sure I was ever going to fight again," he told BBC Sport.
"But with a home Games and the support we were expecting in Glasgow I couldn't not put my kit on for one last shot.
"It's a special moment, not just for me but for the whole Scottish team."
Burton's wife, Gemma Gibbons, also found success at the Games by winning silver for England in judo.
