Georgia's Adam Okruashvili: "I'm very happy with judo gold"

Judo gold medal winner Adam Okruashvili, from Georgia, insists that he did not feel pressure during his gold-medal match against Israel's Or Sasson.

+100kg judo gold medalist Adam Okruashvili has said that he did not feel pressure during his gold medal victory over Israel's Or Sasson.

Okruashvili lost in the 2013 and 2014 European Championships final but was finally able to get his hands on a gold medal in Baku.

Okruashvili told reporters: "Those defeats are in the past. I was not thinking about that, only about winning this match.

"There was pressure on me in the quarterfinal when I fought against my team-mate [Levani Matiashvili], but I didn't have to prove anything to anyone. I just went out there and fought and won, and I'm very happy with that."

When asked how he will celebrate his victory, Okruashvili said: "I aim to do that by winning more gold tomorrow in the team competition."

The European Games conclude tomorrow with finals in badminton, beach soccer, BMX, judo and volleyball.
