The International Olympic Committee has said that it is "very pleased" with the women's ice hockey tournament at the Sochi Games.
Former IOC president Jacques Rogge had previously suggested that the quality of play in the event would have to improve in order for it to remain in the Olympics.
However, a spokesman for the committee confirmed that they have been pleased with the competition so far.
Since women's ice hockey was introduced in 1998, Canada have won three golds, while the USA have one.
