Great Britain's Beth Tweddle finally has an Olympic medal to her name after winning bronze in the uneven bars final.

The 27-year-old, who narrowly missed out on a medal in Beijing 2008 by finishing fourth, scored a 15.916 after expertly executing a difficult routine.

Tweddle switched to the high and low bar with ease following a half turn and pirouette but the British gymnast stumbled slightly on the dismount and was forced to take a step back to hold her composure.

Russia's Aliya Mustafina clinched the gold medal following an impressive routine, which earned her 16.133 from the judges.

China's He Kexin, who kicked off the final, managed to secure the silver medal with a 15.933 score.
