Team England name three rhythmic gymnasts for Commonwealth Games

Team England announces a squad of three for the rhythmic gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games, which will be staged in Australia in April.

Team England have announced that Mimi Cesar, Stephani Sherlock and Hannah Martin have all been selected for the rhythmic gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games.

The 21st staging of the Games will take place on Australia's Gold Coast at the start of April, with Team England currently in the process of revealing who will represent the nation Down Under.

Cesar and Sherlock have been given a second opportunity on the Commonwealth stage, while Martin will be making her debut at the event.

Team leader Mike Weinstock said: "I'm really excited to see our rhythmic gymnasts compete on the Gold Coast and I know they can't wait.

"They're a very talented group of gymnasts and have been working very hard on their performance. Mimi and Stephani had the experience of competing in Glasgow and Hannah will be making her Games debut at the age of just 15.

"We know that the Games will be extremely well organised and the whole team is really looking forward to going out at flying the flag for England."

In Glasgow in 2014, Sherlock finished in 11th position in the individual all-round, while Cesar narrowly missed out on a place in the final 16.
