At The Turn: Patrick Reed, Jordan Spieth fight back from two behind

Rookie duo of Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth fight back from 2 down to take the lead in their fourball match against Europe's Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer.

Team USA's young rookie duo of Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth battled back from 2 down to take the lead at the halfway stage of their fourball match against Europe's Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer on day two of the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.

Europe took an early lead when Kaymer fired in an approach close at the first before the par-five second was halved in birdies.

Bjorn then made it three birdies in a row for Europe at the third and they had an early two-hole lead over Reed and Spieth, who impressively beat Ian Poulter and Stephen Gallacher in yesterday's fourballs.

It went downhill for Europe from then on as they made a mess of the fifth before Spieth birdied the sixth to level the match.

Reed appeared to have won the seventh hole with a birdie for a third straight American success, but Bjorn then chipped in from the off the green for a half.

The eighth was halved before a birdie from Spieth at nine saw America take their first lead of the contest going into the back nine.
