Jordan Spieth targets further major success following US Open triumph

Jordan Spieth targets winning The Open later this year after becoming the youngest winner of the US Open in 92 years with his success at Chambers Bay.

Jordan Spieth has set his sights on winning The Open after clinching his second major of the year at the US Open.

The 21-year-old recorded a one-under-par round of 69 on the final day of the competition to leave himself on five-under, but Dustin Johnson gave himself an opportunity at victory with an eagle putt to win on the 18th at Chambers Bay.

However, Johnson missed the eagle and then the birdie putt to hand Spieth the title to go with his Masters crown earlier this year, and the American has now looked ahead to The Open to chase down a Grand Slam.

He told Fox Sports: "You can't win them all if you don't win the first two. We'll go to the home of golf prepared to try and win the Claret Jug."

Spieth is the youngest winner of the US Open since 1923.
