Andy Sullivan takes one-shot lead after second round in South Africa

England's Andy Sullivan takes a one-shot lead after hitting a second-round 70 at the South Africa Open, while Charl Schwartzel sits one shot behind.

England's Andy Sullivan will head into this weekend's action with a one-shot lead at the South Africa Open after carding a second-round 70.

Sullivan hit two-under for the day, and despite recording two bogeys on the front nine, four birdies pushed him back into contention.

Native South African Charl Schwartzel hit an eagle on the eighth and despite dropping shots on four holes, the 30-year-old finished in second spot on Friday on seven-under overall.

Ernie Els sat just one shot behind the leaders after the first round on Thursday, but he drifted down the board after a poor round, which included three bogeys and two double bogeys on the course.

Els sits level par after he finished the second round on five-over.
