Alexander Levy has a one-shot lead in the BMW Masters following a first-round 65 at Lake Malaren Golf Club in Shanghai.

The Frenchman sits seven-under after hitting seven birdies, four of which came consecutively on the back nine.

Emiliano Grillo, Romain Wattel and Nicolas Colsaerts sit one shot behind the top spot, while Graeme McDowell finished his round five-under after carding five birdies.

Edoardo hit a hole in one on the fourth, but after three bogeys, the Italian finished five shots off the pace following a first-round 70.

Justin Rose, who recently claimed that he is targeting the world number two ranking, finished on par after a poor back nine, which included two bogeys and a double bogey.
